We all enjoy heading to the lakes & rivers during the summer months, but how much do you know about the hazards of open water, how to keep safe when swimming & how to manage a water rescue incident.

Our super friendly Water Safety Instructors are  serving Fire Service Officers & qualified to min Water Rescue, DEFRA module 2  level. They have years of experience.  (non of our Instructors have ever just learnt what they teach from a book!!  At First For Safety we are all serving Emergency Services Professionals) 

The 90 min, introduction to Water Safety is a fun, informative course  tailored to  youths (from 11 yrs)  to help them be more aware & safer around open water.  The session includes a Complimentary First Aid Manual for the host & online certificates of attendance.  We bring biscuits for a half time break & if you're able to exceed your min 8 person booking by 2 or more (10 learners)  you receive a FREE Family First Aid Kit worth £12.99. 

Course Content:

• Basic understanding of hydrology 
• Open water hazards
• Effects of cold water immersion on the body
• Principles of water rescue & rescuer safety inc practical throw line practice outside. 
• Emergency First Aid for water rescues including CPR & defibrillation
• Liaising with the emergency services to pass relevant information
